A Stopmotion Video

Sexual assault is a pervasive problem that affects people of all genders, ages, races, and backgrounds. Unfortunately, one of the myths surrounding sexual assault is that the way a person dresses can provoke or justify the assault. This notion is not only untrue but also dangerous and perpetuates victim-blaming.

It suggests that the victim is somehow responsible for the perpetrator's actions, which can make them feel ashamed, guilty, and afraid to come forward and seek help. This, in turn, can lead to a culture of silence and impunity, where perpetrators are not held accountable for their actions.

Assault is not caused by the way a person dresses, but rather by the perpetrator's decision to commit it.

To address this issue, I have made a stop-motion video to better explain this topic. The video aims to raise awareness about the fact that sexual assault is never the victim's fault, regardless of what they are wearing.

Name of the Video : Farebi Libaaz

Farebi: This word is of Urdu origin which means deceitful, hoax.

Libaaz: It is an Urdu word derived from the Arabic root 'LIBAS', which means costume, dress, garment, and Attire.

The amalgamation of these two words represents a reality created and believed by the society itself that clothes are the prominent factor that contributes to one’s assault.
